VPTEST - the VoIP tester
VPTEST is a program that let users measure the performance of their Internet connection and then calculate a MOS (Mean Opinion Score) value on a 1-5 scale that tells them how well IP-telephony (VoIP) applications would work over the same connection.
VPTEST measures the network delay, jitter (variations in delay) and packet loss between the user and a well-connected server on the Internet, or between two users directly. It then uses these measurement parameters to calculate the perceived call quality, using a well established formula.
